“In 2021, a major report surveying 128 education union leaders and officials in 94 countries and across all levels of education found that 42% of respondents flagged a deterioration in teachers’ working conditions over the last three years.

More recently, a national report found that a staggering 84% of Australian teachers have thought about leaving the profession in the past year.

With schools now returning for face-to-face learning, there are calls to make sure teachers are not only appreciated for the tireless work they do, but heard, and what a vast majority of teachers are saying is that they are often too stressed by their workloads to take care of themselves, let alone the students they have a duty of care over.
