Episode 6 - Protecting The Passions That Power Us
In this episode of The Flourish Movement Podcast, we are joined by Principal Ian Worley, to explore the importance of having something outside of work that fills your cup.
We unpack why so many school leaders struggle with recovery, and how finding a genuine passion outside of work can improve wellbeing, happiness, and longevity in the role. Ian shares his unexpected journey onto ABC’s Muster Dogs, and how wholeheartedly stepping into this gave him the chance to properly disconnect, recharge, and reconnect with himself outside of being a principal.
We explore the power of hobbies, goal setting, social connection, and making time for the things that are just for you. Ian also shares the flow-on impact this had, not just personally, but across his leadership, his family life, and his school community.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the NSW Primary Principals’ Association, our learning partner in this podcast.
